Getting started
This section takes a gateway from nothing to a running plant view. It is for the person who installs Scadex and the engineer who makes the first tags and screens on it. The gateway is one Docker container that holds the .NET tag runtime, a bundled NATS JetStream server and the React dashboard; Docker is the only requirement, and the first account created on it becomes its administrator.
Read the pages in order the first time. Installation runs the appliance, creates the first account safely and puts the gateway behind a reverse proxy under your own domain. Quickstart is a first session: a memory tag, a device connection over OPC UA or MQTT, an alarm, a screen and a start screen. Configuration lists every key the gateway reads, the compose variables that set them and the layout of the data directory. Upgrading covers moving to a new image, what the gateway migrates by itself on first start, module contract compatibility and rolling back.
