Examples

These guides each take one task from start to finish on a running gateway, with the dashboard labels and the API calls as they are. They are ordered from the first connection to the more advanced setups; each one says what it needs and where to go next.

  1. Connect a Siemens S7-1500 over OPC UA: add the connection, browse a data block, create tags, read and write, and read the connection's status tags.
  2. An MQTT sensor on a dashboard: a Mosquitto broker, a topic as a tag, test values with mosquitto_pub, a value and a trend on a screen, and a write back.
  3. Model a motor as a tag type: parameters, node ids from {ID}, status bits, a derived member, an alarm template, instances and a faceplate.
  4. From an alarm to a webhook: a high alarm with deadband and on-delay, acknowledgement, and a notification pipeline with its payload and send log.
  5. A daily counter reset with cron: a scheduled script in a time zone, a failure tag, a trial run, the run record and missed runs.
  6. A standalone React app on the SDK: vendor @scadex.io/sdk, sign in with gateway accounts, useTag and a write, and serve it on its own host.
  7. Import a WinCC Unified project: the wincc-import tool's commands in order, what it maps, and its cautions.
  8. Investigate an incident with replay: start a replay from the clock, watch screens, alarms and trends show the past, and return to live.
